Hi, I hope i don't sound mad but I have been hearing voices, I'll explain. Last night I was a sleep lying on my right hand side when a l was woken by a giggle which sounded like it was being loudly whispered in my right ear. It really freaked me out. I managed to get back to sleep and it happened again but this time it was the word 'right' in a determined tone (female). that really upset me. the night before the same thing had happened but the noise was a like a knock on the door. I don't think it was a dream as i can't remember dreaming at the time and these nosies have woken me from deep sleep. I remember this happening once or twice when I was in my teens (I'm 26). Am I going mad or is it a dream thing or a medical thing. Sorry for rambling on.

I'm so glad you had a better night. Keep thinking nice thoughts before you go to bed & I''m sure things will improve for you.

Take care & try to relax more. -x-

My girlfriend is parnoid schizophrenic - she hears voices quite a bit, like intrusive thoughts. They are nearly always critical or threatening. With medication she has enough insight to understand that they are just symptoms of her illness. If you continue to experience this and/or they start becoming more regular it may well be worth seeing someone about it.

Hope you de-stress and get some decent sleep!

It could be the Others, or Nanobots. Maybe your in purgatory. Find Danielle, she'll show you where the Others are camped on the far side of the Island.

Sleep deprivation is another cause. I regularly hear things which aren't there if I've had a night up with the baby. Come the next afternoon I see and her all sorts. I thought I was going crazy as first, but I mentioned the bath moving to my health visitor and she blamed sleep deprivation immediately. After just 48 hours of no sleep we're classed as insane.

Hiya, bit of a late reply sorry! Just wanted to say I agree with smudge & others who say its a sleep disorder/psychological thing. Our brains are complex things and sometimes do things we dont understand! Ive got a sleep disorder called sleep paralysis and while you may not have this its interesting to know about just to learn how bizarre the human brain is! With sleep paralysis your body can be awake while your brain is still in a state of sleep, so you see, hear, smell, feel things which arent really there. Your brain may be working in a similar way due to the stress you mention. Its probably temporary and nothing to worry about, but if it does continue to bother you than dont be shy to visit the doctors.
I have had halucinations during sleep like this. The two most vivid was seeing the floor of my room seathing in rats (I came too a moment later) and the other, I was about 13-15, I 'woke' thinking my mum and dad had asked me to stay upstairs because they had an important visitor. I couldnt hear anyone down stairs so I went down to see if they had gone. I though I saw my dad in the garden out of the down stairs window so I opened the front door to go out. It was a sunny day and I could see a couple of people walking down the street opposite. Meanwhile my mum had heard me and woke my dad. Hearing them I slamed the door shut and ran up stairs scaring the life out of my mum and dad, and me! It was about 2am and pitch black..... the mind can play very funny games when you are asleap/drifing off!
google 'sleep paralysis' and see if your symptoms are similar. I suffered from this for years but thankfully not for a long time now!
I had that happen to me, but prior to it happening, I had recorded the voice on my voice recorder, and then I found out who it could be by researching my property.

If the voices are that loud you should be able to record some good voice phenomena on a digital voice recorder.

Ask them who they are and what they want, play back and see if the voices are the same, as you are hearing.

Good Luck and I hope it helps. Believe me, you are not insane. You make be experiencing audibles.
