Lump in the back of the neck

Anyone any ideas, for a couple of days ive had a very tender head and my usual muscle aches. I've also had a sore throat but what is worrying me is that last night I noticed a lump at the back of my neck 1" below my ear, it seems smaller today but is causing some discomfort, I'm having some dental problems and am awaiting some teeth out, could it be this, i have a gp appointment weds am but do you think It should be seen b4

To be honest clown tickle it sounds like a swollen gland. I suffer with mine in the same place and they are very uncomfortable and make you feel very lethargic. Glands swell when they are fighting infection and I would think it probably is something to do with your teeth. I usually just take the normal painkillers for mine but if it is too uncomfortable I would get it checked out a.s.a.p, especially if it doesnt go down, as you may need a course of antibiotics.

could be glandular fever, only a blood test will tell.
i agree swallen glands.
Im the queen of throat infections, and its probably a swollen lymph node. We have lymph nodes all over our bodies, and often when we have throat infections they cause the lymph nodes in our necks to swell. For me it's usually smaller then the size of your pinky nail. If it's there for longer then a week, I would go to a doctor. But I've had them last up to 2 weeks. Feel better ;)
