I would phone Doctor's back & insist on an emergency appointment, or ask for a doctor to come out to see her.

I wish her well.

i would make sure she doesnt get over heated (especially if you have the central heating on), its so easy for little ones to do that if they are covered up too. if her temperature gets worse, put a damp cool flannel on her groins to try and cool her down again, keep giving her the calpol at the recommended intervals, get her to drink fluids so she doesnt get dehydrated, write down the details of her temperature at various times for future reference if needed. if her condition does not get better by this evening, ring the NHS advice line, they are brilliant.

you must also check for any signs of rashes which wont go away when pressed with a glass, any aversion to light or any pains in the neck - if you find any of these ring NHS direct IMMEDIATELY.

it might just be one of these many viruses going around.

hope she is ok

smudge and silverdaler thank you so much,i did cover her up bu ivet took it off now,im going to see if they can send a doctor out to see her,if not ill ring the nhs cheers again thanks for your advice

us mums must stick together - its a worry when they are not well, but kids are very resilient.

keep us informed of how she is.

Hi Tradey, My daughter is 3 and this has been an ongoing thing with her since before christmas, shes had exactly the same symptoms. I feel like ive been bringing her up on calpol. Ive been taking her to the docs who said its a recurring viral thing and even called nhs direct who said that children of this age can get at leat 8 colds a year and so not to worry too much. Last week I kept her at home all week and didnt let her mix with anyone else (or as little as possible anyway) and it seems to have done the trick. I now feel I may have been taking her places when shes wasnt at all well and really should have been resting! Ive been worrying myself sick about it so i can imagine how you are feeling but I would give nhs direct a call to put your mind at rest. Hope she gets better soon x
p.s. My daughter had this high temperature for about 4 days last week but the same as your daughter it kept coming and going, so be prepared. Also the doctor told me you can give baby nurofen in between giving calpol. i.e. give calpol then 3 hours later give nurofen, then 3 hours later give calpol again. and this way it helps keep the temp down,
My son had same thing - turned out to be chicken pox :-(
my 7yr old had same thing and slept for a whole day, her skin felt like it was on fire and she complained of the room spinning when she did finally get up. I panicked at this new complaint but when i phoned doctor for advice, he recommended calbrufen, this can be taken safely with calpol and it did the trick. Listen to your gutt feeling. xx
how is she tonight tradey - any better ?
