DO hats really make you bald!!!!

I love to wear hats all the time.. I run in them and wear them to the beach.. Do hats really make you go bald?

Apparantly there is something in natural sun light that is really good for hair so I guess It can not be good to wear one all the time! Wearing one for running & down at the beach will be just fine.

BYW. If you were here in the North east of England you would be wearing a thick woolly one .......... it's freezing!

Wearing hats on the beach will probably be good for your hair, protecting it from the natural elements and salt.

If your hat rubs in certain places it could certainly leave you with a bald patch over time, but it would grow back.

And the hat would have to be very uncomfortable to do that.

Well my bash hat has spent years on my head and i'm not going bald,and they fit very snug so,i wouldn't say it causes baldness!

its the pulling the hair back to get the hat on that causes damage over time - especially with long hair e.g. when putting the cap (or whatever) on pushing the hair back and then holding it there with the hat slowly pulls hair out and can cause a widows peak appearance at the front

i aways wore hats and got alopcia when i went to the docs he said it was nothing to do with the fact i wear a hat all the time.,any hoo i didnt wear a hat for a while as i wanted to get the sun to my head, my hair grew back after two years i started wearing my hats again and low and behold i have a bald patch . so i would be cautious and dont wear your hats all the time it may just be coincidence but its not nice being bald!!

The reason why I asked this question is because I wear hats all the time.. I love'em... And I have some friends that keep telling me Im going to go BALD !!! eek!!!

Your post did make me laugh Jennykins (in a nice way, I hasten to add!)

My late father-in-law always said he was prematurely bald due to the fact of being in the army and having to wear a cap all the time. Bless him!
