because they are comfortable, although i wouldn't wear them outside, the milkman has seen me in them.

It's not only fat woman who wear leggings, I do too. I like them under a skirt, so comfy also!!

can't you find a more appropriate word?
yes, like Sienna Millar!

Perhaps I have worded this question wrong. I appreciate they are a fashionable item at present, as a keen fashion follower, however I must question why fat people wear them without suitable arse coverage and think that they look good. I agree that they are a comfortable item but for hygiene reasons possibly not the best item of clothing for fatties. Somebody needs to tell these people that this is not a good look.

Oh gerbil girl, thats sounds incredibly rough.

gerbil, you,ve obviously seem to have a issue with overweight people, can you try to be more dignified in your post as i think you are extremely rude and very immature, its sounds like you are 4 stone wringing wet and you think this is fashionable.

Ps, i bet your a Kate Moss fan as well?

i have nothing against people who are overweight and im sure gerbil girl feels the same although there is a man at work who wears trousers which do not cover him properly, and this exposes vast amounts of scabby bottom cleavage and a very large belly as his shirt isnt long enough either. he is clearly obese as he must weigh in excess of 25 stone. as you can imagine this isnt what you want to be seeing when your trying to make your lunch (and believe me i have tried looking away, there is no escaping it.) I am sure gerbil girl didnt mean to be rude but im sure she has probably had an incident not unlike mine so i can understand where she is coming from!
Probably not politically correct, but my observations of portly women lead me to believe a lot of them are in denial.

Perhaps Suzanna and Trinnie (think that's their names, the posh ones who do clothes programmes) could do a makeover on those of a larger girth?

I recently replied to a similiar question re "Fat people and "Porkers" as titled by fishkid. I say the same to you as I did him..Its people like you who cause others to becom anorexic! Large, meduim or small.Does it really matter?

As long as people are comfortable in what they wear they who cares what shape or size they are. Oh for the days when all shapes and sizes were acceptable and people did not make unnecessary comments. Personally I think larger people look far better in leggings than really skinny people.

I can kind of understand what you mean, when Im feelin a bit podgy, like during time of month, I like to wear loose comfortable clothing. It is much more flattering.

On the other hand, I think people should wear what they want unless they are actually exposing themselves! But whether or not it suits them is a different story. Thats up to them to decide, and if they feel comfortable just leave them to it.

Fat or thin, I think seeing someone's bottom cleavage isn't really very acceptable in the work place, fideldefee. However, we see loads of these in those awful extra low rise trousers.

Either way, you should not refer to overweight people as "fatties", that is a huge generalisation. That is offensive. You wouldn't come on here and refer to "darkies" so what is the difference?

OK, this is obviously causing some contentious issues, let me reiterate my original query.

Picture this.... I'm sat at my desk working when a rather portly woman approaches me wearing lime green (yes!) skin tight leggings with an equally tight t-shirt and stands at my eye level. What I then see is serious camel's hoof which:

a) I find very offensive

b) surely cannot be hygenic

and c) is just wrong.

I'm all for people having freedom of choice when it comes to clothing and I assure you I am no Kate Moss, but when their body outline becomes just too visible, I take offence.

if you take offence i think you are very shallow, i appreciate what your trying to say, but that is your view only.

Ps, are you a perfect 10 then with no faults whatsoever ?

Why is it that every time someone like gerbil girl tries to make a joke, some goody two shoes has to get on their high horse and get all offended. I can think of much more offensive words than the word fatties!! And I'm sure none of you who have complained are just angels and never say anything mean about anyone else. Yes I'm aware that everyone is entitled to their opinion, but sometimes just take the joke!

Those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones!

Nobodies perfect!!

By the way gerbil girl, I know what you mean about it being only fat women that wear leggings (of the grey fafed variety, not the fashionable ones about now!!)

Sorry

Another narrow minded response {nicnicnic} i'm glad you think fat people are a joke?
