Is it true that as men get older there earlobes get longer?

Lots of old folk of both sexes seem to have big ears generally. I've been told it's not because the ears get bigger, but because the head gets smaller!

I can remember reading somewhere that men's ears in general (not just the lobes) DO get bigger with age. It was something to do with the cartiledge changing shape/sagging/whatever. I think the article said it could also happen to noses. I went and got out a pic of my dad as a young man, and then compared it to a pic taken when he was in his 70's. His ears WERE bigger in old age.


Gosh, thats another of the joys of old age we can look forward to!

sorry to be medical but noses and ears never stop growing! It just depends on the person as to how enormous and bulbous they end up!! sorry to be the bearer of bad news to anyone with already disproportionate features
