I have been doing the slimming world diet and have lost a stone but would like to lose around another 4/5lbs which won't seem to go. Has anyone got any good diet tips for just losing that last few pounds.

Decrease food intake and increase exercise level.
Stop driving - walk.
Get off the bus one stop early/walk to the next stop. Don't expect miracles.
Are you sure you want to lose 5lb, or rather tone up?
Muscle weighs more than fat, so you could lose inches but increase/see no change in weight....
Please define your goal more clearly - there's no secret to losing weight, just cut down on intake; the secret to losing inches is to do exercise.
Walking is the easiest and cheapest; jogging/running is not much more expensive (but if you're spending, make sure you get the best shoes you can afford - and get advice from a proper shop, not a high-street fashion footwear store); swimming is fantastic - the different strokes affect different muscle groups and the water supports your weight, so less stress than running.

I think ( not that I this as personal experience, but I do from someone who has) that once your weight has plateaud, it means that the calories you are having are equal with the calories that you are burning. The only way to get the rest of the weight off once you have got to this stage, is to up the amount of calories you are burning: Exercise basically. I know that is not the easiest thing in such a busy world, but it is the only way.

My mum got a running machine and runs on it in the evenings while watching a DVD. She could only walk at first as she also had BP problems, but now can run quite briskly for a relatively long time and the rest of the weight is dropping off. Don't forget your calasthnetics (*spelling?) though also as you want to be lighter, but presumably, more importantly: Slimmer?

Good luck to you, and sorry if this is sucking eggs stuff.
sorry I started posting before Big Mac and so we've overlapped. I didn't mean too. OOpS

mimififi - like others before me, glad to see you back.

I think the technical term is synchronography....

Also, glad of the confirmation of my views. And with that, I'll go back to my cigar, Guinness and pie....
