Gave Syndrome.

After 7 plus years of needing transfusions 4 times a year, I finally got a diagnosis on Friday after yet another endoscopy.
Does anyone have experience of this please?
What I really want to know is how long is the procedure to cauterise the blood vessels through an endoscope?
I should have thought to ask whilst I was there, but there was a lot to take in. Five minutes of them just looking was bad enough.
Thank you.

Thank you Choux, that was helpful.
I just hope I can last out the 10 minutes needed.
The endoscopist was very good with me on Friday, and used a paediatric scope, I did remember to ask if the procedure could be done with the smaller scope, and she said yes.

Thanks PP, interesting. I was told that GAVE was sort of related to the CREST syndrome I had already been diagnosed with.
