Not always, it's personal choice
I forgot to say it isn't always personal choice, many transgender people simply can't afford surgery or their health doesn't allow it.
Not necessarily. Some live with all their bits intact while presenting as their chosen gender.
Depends what you mean by private parts. Yes a women who transitions to become transgender man can have "a phalloplasty, which can be done at the same time as a hysterectomy/vaginectomy, creates an aesthetically appropriate phallus and creates a urethera for standing urination. Construction of a scrotum with testicular implants is done as a second stage. "
But as far as I know they cant produce sperm and father a child themself,.

A man who becomes a transgender woman can get breasts and genitalia and can have facial and hormone treatment ..... but wont have a womb or uterus so cant give birth
Transitioning, Transitioned. Basic English.
Yes, they can have all that surgery, bob, and create an intimation of the relevant genitalia but not everyone who transitions does.
I know barry thats why I said 'can have'. I know they dont all. I was just saying they can be given some private parts if they choose but they cant get all the parts needed to father a child or give birth
They can chop and change as much as they like but i do not think it will alter their chromosomes, maybe squad could explain it better.
Of course the real tragedy is that young people who opt for surgery are also opting to be sterile.
I have personal knowledge of someone (much loved by me) who transitioned. Process finally decided upon at age 28. It is a long, slow, complex path. If officially diagnosed as true gender dysphoria (a very small number of people) it is treated as any other illness.

Far too complex to go into the whole process, but it begins with drugs and surgery is almost the final process. It is not one simple operation either.

For a person to have truly transitioned, yes, 'privates' have been dealt with in one way or another.

I would add that it is a dangerous process and the drugs used have been known to cause fatal 'bleeds' on the brain.
I read about this 80 year old today. Any surgery at that age is risky, I was surprised any surgeon agreed to do it.

I believe that only those with the rank of corporal or above can deal with privates!
I don't think anyone can give a definitive answer, it all depends on the individual. I know someone through work who expected to be called by a female name and dress as a female and use the ladies loos but for only 3 or 4 days a week. The other he appeared publicly as a male with his wife who was 'apparently' quite happy with the situation.
He insisted he is not a cross dresser but someone who feels he should be a woman. That's the kind of example where some on this site call us bigots if we don't fully embrace (in fact laud them) for their choices.
Good post Prudie. It's not always cut and dried.
That's a bit like the chap in the link I posted at 22:15, Prudie, except he and his wife kept his transgender life secret for many years.
