Does anyone have a foolproof and fairly quick method of getting rid of the above?
I’ve tried just about all over the counter stuff in the last few years, which help for a while but never gets rid of it completely.
I only have a small area of it behind my little toe and the one next to it but it itches a great deal.
Was wondering about iodine? Or tea tree oil??

I found Lamisil Once effective. But remember to follow the directions exactly ie do not wash your feet for at least 24 hours after you apply it . Good luck.

Canestan? I got it for an under-boob yeast sore.

I’ve used that wolf, in fact am currently using it. Helps but doesn’t rid it completely.
These are some home remedies my mother used in days gone by

Vicks vapour rub
salt baths
crushed garlic rubbed on twice a day and covered - very stinky
I agree with wolf - Canestan, but you should keep applying it when it's 'gone' & get some foot powder, I think one is called Mycil, but Boots do one of their own which is good. Put in all your foot ware, & keep doing all this with ointment & powder for a long time as a preventative.

OMG Helen, don’t fancy the Vicks or garlic! I wonder what the salt does?
cleans the fungas out - don't know - mother was a witch when it came to home remedies

Have a visit to Boots today so will have a look at all that Khandro, thanks. Maybe I’m not using the canestan for long enough…
I think its advised to use any topical treatment for a week after the last of the infection has gone
sudocreme - I seem to remember using that and it worked
I have used Vick and although it works, it eventually does come back.
Tea tree oil. Then use a tea tree oil footspray daily.
Mycoapaisyl (bought in France) anti-fungal cream. Cheque for reactions with other drugs (e.g. oral anticoagulates). It's got econazole nitrate in it.

Thanks for further suggestions :)
Diet may make it better...or worse. Avoid sugar. Check out the anti Candida diet. This applies to all fungus type conditions.
I've noticed that mine dramatically improves when I paddle in the sea.
I know your frustration. No matter what ointment/powder you use, you are probably inadvertently reinfecting. You should wear socks that can be bleached after wearing or disinfected in some way. A tip from my podiatrist is to use a light dusting of anti-fungal powder every day when there is no obvious infection.

I don’t eat sugary stuff because of type 2 diabetes although I do love bread :/
OMG, not paddling in the sea for a while yet….
Can’t bleach my black socks but could do the rest.
Think I need a concerted and concentrated effort, seems I may not have been treating it the best way to rid myself of it.
Thanks everyone.

There you go, that is all you need to know.

Sorry, I forgot. Also bleach the shower floor, fungus survives in damp environments.
