This is only the opinion of Mrs sqad after the jury has returned.
She appreciates that other ABers may have differing opinions and to these she respects.

Vegetables: Fine, no problems if one is going to add them to a casserole or as a prelude to sauces e.g home made tomato sauce .

Fish: not impressed...appearance is poor and taste OK but not great.

Meat:...No! No!...appearance poor and a suspicion that it is not cooked evenly. Taste: acceptable...........

Cakes and Yorkshire puudings, a big NO.

Verdict: If you can afford to cook by oven and hob, then do so as the Airfryer has nothing to add. If you can't afford to cook in this way, then an Airfryer is an adequate substitute.

She would not buy one again.

I find it useful for cooking (re-heating) stuff from the freezer that can't be microwaved & would have been done in the oven.
Thank you for the update, Sqad.
We won't be investing in one.

My main oven doesn't cost as much as the scaremongering news reports claim because, of course, it is not constantly heating. When it has reached temperature it turns itself off and on, like all main ovens
Doesn't it depend on whether you have an air-fryer or an all in one type job? I've just got an Instant Pot and I love it (air fry, pressure cook, bake, sous vide, dehydrate, roast and I don't know what else).

A significant draw for me is the ability to sous vide stuff (I have been cooking sous vide for years, but my wand is on its last legs) and although I have not used this function yet, I shall probably do so at the weekend.
Yes but Sqad, how have you found it when you cook with it?

Hoppy....cook?........don't insult me.
Never cooked in my life.......and never will.
Funny, I guessed that.
Which can cook all components of a meal at the same time? I've been looking at them all and couldn't work it out so for now I'm sticking with my gas hob and oven.
Just as I thought, I will not be buying one & hope I don't get one for Xmas.
Do people who have it in for air fryers also not like microwave ovens?

Just wondering
I love my combi-microwave, use it every day
I made four jacket potatoes in air fryer and it took less than 15 minutes. They were soft and fluffy inside.
Good aren't they, Tiggs. Dave's a fantastic cook and loves experimenting and entertaining.....I open the wine.
The air fryer he has produces great meals but as I say he experiments with it.
Yep, I've been experimenting too, Gness. I've done a few things now which have come out really nice. Veg curry and rice was done in a flash. Had to do them separately though as I'm not sure they can be done at the same time.
When we got together we had three air fryers but Dave's now bought a Ninja which is really good.
I saw a way of cooking poached eggs which is highly recommended. If I can find it again I'll give it a try!
I stick most food in either the air fryer or the microwave.

I like the air fryer because it seems to be idiot-proof and doesn't go on fire like a microwave or toaster or gas hobs can.

I rarely cook but can heat stuff up.
They're brilliant.
Were the skins crispy Tiggs?
No, Cashier but I think you can set them to go crispy.
Done tonight’s dinner , Spagbol , from prepping to eating ,30 minutes, the best thing I’ve bought
Ours are crispy but I'd have to ask Dave what setting he uses to do that.
