Saw my consultant/surgeon yesterday and he wants to do this. He showed me the images on screen and discs 3 and 4 are crushed - he is sending me for an MRI in next 10 days to see if there is actually enough space to inject this ‘cement’. But has anybody had this done?? I don’t know anyone who has.

It is heartening that there is a procedure that can help your pain, Smow. Very encouraging
never even heard of it. There's a bit about it here but your surgeon's probably told you pretty much the same already

They said yesterday that they just need to check there is enough actual gaps to inject the ‘cement’ and an MRI will show them better. Just a bit stressed as he said he has seenpeople with my ‘damage’ paralysed for life.

He was a lovely lovely guy - his boss, the top man, came in during the whole meeting. Lovely guy too.
In my opinion he was out of order saying that to you.
barry......one has to warn the patient about any major post operative complication, as if it happens and you haven't been warned then one can sue the surgeon.
I remember a friend & neighbour saying he had cement put in spine, whatever. It's a lot better but has to use a walking stick. He is a lot older though..All the best Smow x

Out of order saying what?
////Just a bit stressed as he said he has seenpeople with my ‘damage’ paralysed for life.////

I can only presume that is the comment that has concerned barry.
//he said he has seenpeople with my ‘damage’ paralysed for life//

A friend of mine with something similar was told that too.
Sqad, I understand that medics have to warn about the risks and side effects of every treatment but I took it to mean people with Smow's condition without intervention.
barry....right.

My question was simply has anyone had this done, as I really know nothing about it x
I'm always somewhat cautious when it comes to posting YouTube videos from American hospitals, as they can possibly be seen as little more than ads for the services of that hospital (or of a particular surgeon).

However, for what it's worth, I came across this:
