How To Amuse A Supervalu Delivery Driver :

1. Book slot for New Year's Eve as soon as they are released – create a holding order of Wine.

2. Realise on the last but one day for amendment that you don't actually need very much – not even wine - but don't cancel order 'just in case'.

3. On last day for amendment get a hefty discount voucher, cunningly pitched slightly above your current order spend.

4. Amend order with stuff that 'will come in useful later', so as to reach target spend.

5. Watch in horror as SuperValu driver unboxes the delivery into your hall :

Cigarettes (lots)
Wine (lots)
Coffee (really quite a lot)
Coffee (another sort)
Tea (two boxes)
Unhealthy white bread (in my defence it is very good for toasties)
Butter (yes – several packs)
Shreddies (two boxes)

and

A jumbo pack of Rennies (on offer)


Watch SuperValu man crease up with laughter and ask if he can come to what is apparently going to be quite a party tonight and a hangover breakfast tomorrow ...

Meat and veg all come from the village - butchers and grocers are brilliant and we always buy local.

Our turkey could have walked here - it was from a cousin of gness who lives just up the road - amazing bird which has done the two of us

Roast dinners (Sat and Sun)
Cold Cuts and salad (Mon)
Turkey curries (Wed and Thur)

We did have a chips/egg/beans fry up with local black pudding and pigs in blankets on Tuesday (just to break the turkey stranglehold on our diets) and will be having Kerry Lamb and root veg for dinner tonight :-)
