Dumping By Text

After 6 months of seeing her fella, my colleague dumped him today by text message.

It made me wonder, is it cruel to end a relationship by text or would you prefer to be let down this way?

He was incredibly nice about it, text her back and wished her well ... he said he had a feeling it was coming. She went skipping out of the office heading for the supermarket to buy some wine and toast her freedom. That's it, done and dusted via SMS!

What do you think about this method of ending a relationship?

Personally I think it’s a very cowardly act Lcg

It has its pluses and minuses
Some do it to avoid any confrontation or nastiness I guess ?
It is part and parcel of modern relationships unfortunately
Some think it cruel
Some maybe perversely prefer it as they have something tangible to refer to when looking for strength when moving on

To be honest, Bobbi, he didn't leave her a lot of choice. I was all for her phoning him and she did text to ask if he was free to talk. He text back that he was at Laser Quest with his son and she did not want to have that conversation with him when he had his lad with him. She needed to tell him ASAP because she was supposed to be with him and his parents and son tomorrow night to see in the New Year and she didn't think it would be fair to see the New Year in with him and his family knowing she was going to be ending it with him.
Ahhh that’s different then, no good prolonging a relationship that’s not working

It has happened to me
Roughly this time last year

But it subsequently became clear that it was part of a deception scam and I am now looking to reclaim £3000 via the small claims court

All part of lifes rich tapestry ! Lol
