Ok so I'm a little bored Sunday evening.

Choose as many members as you like dead or alive who would be in your Super Group?

Mine:
Freddie Mercury - Vocals
Cozy Powell - Drums
Mark King - Bass Guitar
Steve Vai - Lead Guitar (I so much wanted to chose Brian ;-)
Richard Wright - Keyboards

Ooh interesting! (Evening arksided!). Vocals - well Freddie would be hard to beat, I’m trying to think……….

Evening Smow, I've being trying to think of an alternative group from the one I named. It was hard enough choosing that one.
Pretty difficult that Arky. A group to play 'a specific genre' or anything goes?
I'll have a go with
Bass (& vocals): Jack Bruce
Drummer: Frank Beard (ZZ Top)
Guitars: George Harrison & Slash
Keyboards (& vocals): Brian Wilson

(but that list might change in a minute).
Paul Weller - guitar / vocals
Bruce Foxton - bass
Rick Buckler - drums
When you really try and think of brilliant vocalists it isn’t actually that easy!
@Roy ;0)))

I nearly listed Clapton, Bruce & Baker, with a 'oh hang, it's been done'.

It isn't Smow, Good evening Gents any genre goes.

Funny that when I read those Frank Beard playing ZZ Top's Legs came on 12" ... Players on random.
George Michael - vocals
Dave Gilmore - lead guitar
Adam Clayton - bass guitar
Elton John - keyboards
Phil Collins - drums
Yes I agree with George Michael - a very powerful, smooth listen.
Drums: Gilson Lavis
Lead guitar: Mark Knopfler
Bass guitar: John Entwistle
Lead vocals: Amy Winehouse
Keyboard: Rick Wakeman

237SJ, That'd also be an awesome group as the above ones would be.
I thought about dear old George for my alternative group but thinking of a female vocalist, I have a few in mind.

Not yourself on Drums Chris ;-)
Arksided - loads would have said Adele a couple of years ago, but she’s become less popular lately, even with the fab voice lol - all down to personality. What about, ummm, Sinead O’Connor??
Question Author
My alternative band, as above likely to change within seconds.

Ann Wilson (Heart) - Vocals
Neil Pert (Rush) - Drums
Yngwie J. Malmsteen - Lead Guitar
Roger Hodgson (Supertramp) - Keyboards
John Richard Deacon - (Queen) Bass Guitar
I've only heard of Freddie Mercury - so I'll leave you others to enjoy it. :)
the Grateful Mostly Dead?
[i]What about, ummm, Sinead O’Connor[i]

I'd go for ummmm, not so much Sinead though, Smow
Question Author
Sinead's a good call everyone knows Prince' Nothing compares 2 U that she covered. I always like Mandinka.

Com' on jourdain2, you must know some musicians Freddies not mine exclusively, choose him. You don't win a cake or anything.
I'm pleased that I seem to have started people thinking about female vocalists ;-)

Animal, from the Muppets, is allegedly based upon Keith Moon, so I obviously considered him as my choice of drummer, Arky, but eventually I was torn between Ginger Baker and Gilson Lavis, with the latter just edging ahead in my opinion.

Check out Gilson Lavis's fantastic drumming here. There's none of the showiness of Moon, Baker, etc. He simply sits there in his collar and tie as if he's doing a mundane office job but really powers the music along.
