I'm about to send an email to my surgery asking for blood tests as I should have had these done in September but they are not to blame - they did send me a letter reminding me.

However I am going to mention Shingles injection, the relevant blood tests - will they be in the position of giving you the booster jab if I mention in the email.

Am afraid of coming out like needle cushion LOL

Are you 70 JJ?
Question Author
yes
I went to my doctors about my leg and ended up getting a shingles jab I didn't know I was due. I would think they'll have supplies of the various vaccines in the fridge. I'm due pneumonia as well, I gather.
There has to be a 7 day gap between the shingles jab and the booster (if you are eligible for it).

ok - the email has gone through - she will email me back with her answers - so that's ok. thanks Edmund
I thought you had had the shingles jab already, JJ
I think JJ said she was getting it in September, perhaps it got delayed?

was putting blood tests off - after that last nurse tried 3 times to get a vein in my arm, don't want her again. She then tried to take it from the back of my hand.

I think you've confused us a little - do you mean Booster as in a Covid Booster?

If so leave a week between Shingles jab and Covid Booster as Edmund says.

It makes it easier to identify the cause of any after effects.
You are extremely lucky to have email access to your GP practice. In South Lincolnshire we don’t have that luxury. It would save so much time and hassle if we did.
I had my shingles jab same time as the flu jab when I was 70, then the following year had the pneumonia jab with my flu jab. Still waiting to be called for the covid booster

Mw its an arrangement cos i am deaf
Yes Sadie, you can have the Shingles jab with other vaccines but they recommend a gap with any of the Covid jabs.
