Does anyone know the answer to this please? I do need to know urgently!

If a person entered the country on a student visa and his application was refused, can he halt any appeal against this decision and make a fresh application from within the U.K. -
a) For another student visa ( as his circumstances have changed)?

b) For permission to remain as the fiance or unmarried partner of a British National?

The general rule is that UK visas can only be issued overseas, so the normal visa processes won't apply in this case.

It looks as if there are some complex issues here. The best course of action would be to phone the Immigration and Nationality Enquiries Bureau on 0870 606 7766.
