Aha . . . I have this. It's when your blood pressure shoots up just as the doctor or nurse is about to measure it, simply through the anxiety of the experience. It's annoying because it is very difficult to get an accurate reading and is rather self-perpetuating; the more aware you are that it happens, the more anxious you become. I've had readings that made me think I was going to have a stroke there and then.
