I mentioned in another thread yesterday that I do not believe the UK is institutionally racist but that there are racist individuals within institutions that are the problem.

Glad they caught him, he sounds a dangerous individual.
All credit to the rozzers for doing the right thing.
I watched the first half of this video last night, it is interesting.

I can't imagine how some people can have such hate about a person due only to their colour or religion.

Surely the Met’s selection process is flawed. If they had taken a reference from his school he would never have been selected. They had reported concerns about at age 16.
meanwhile the teacher who showed cartoons images is under a death threat...from that ethnic minority, and how many are there in britain
and arriving by dingy daily...

Even for the usual habit by some regulars of taking two and two and making twenty-two, this is a stretch, even for you!

The three instances you mention are not connected, unless you want to use your imagination to connect them and make an imaginary point, but there it must remain - in your imagination, since it has no connection here on planet earth.
I don't think any system is perfect, grumpy....unfortunately, as this is about publicity around his exposure before he 'signed up'....

That I believe is the most important fact to emerge from this story so far - a basic level of reference, way below what the Met should have in place for its potential recruits, would have revealed this man's singular unsuitability for any job involving any responsibility whatsoever, never mind the idea of being given an opportunity to visit his abhorent mindset on innocent members of the public.

No sysetm is perfect, of couse, but i would hope that a system of vetting by the Met would at least ask for info from the school he last attended, as an indication of his personality and character, neither or which are revealed on an application form.
you would have thought so - but even then, he could have camouflagued his 'interests' - all depends to whom they interviewed as to how well did the staff really know him - and his thinking may have taken an intense turn 'downwards' as he left the school.

You are quite right of course.

But I think the Met would have a lot less red faces if they could say "We has no inkling either from our initial inerview, or from the school references which we take up as a matter of course ... "

Rather than - "Well it appears that concerns about his views were being raised at the time he left school, but of course, we didn't know that, because we didn't bother to ask!!"
Sack Cressida then (but Boris protects his women - see the last PE cover - can't post it but it's brilliant)

and also her Communications Director/Manager/bloated Agency.....
By a perculair fluke, our copy of the Mail had an ink smudge on the front page image of this dreadful man - right between his nose and his top lip, making him look like he had a Hitler moustache.

Spooky!!
Maybe a Charlie Chaplin fan delivered it.
andy, they are connected islam, manchester bombing, london bridge,
bus bombing..shall i go on, what is the thing they have in common.
I'm not sure it was an accident, Andy, the DT had the same photo!

"After the police constable's arrest in March last year, detectives found an image on his iPhone showing him in police uniform, with a Hitler-style moustache superimposed on his face and a Nazi badge on his lapel."
the teacher is 'under a death threat' Yes, appalling. But we must stop comparing one crime with another.
