After musch research and a convo with my consultant I had the Pfizer Vaccine on Friday. Got all my ducks lined up in a row viz a viz side effects -homemade soup in the Fridge, someone to look after the horses etc. - and 'Zilch'! Nothing !

Sat on the couch Friday evening expecting it to 'hit me' at any moment -nothing, except a huge appetite for some reason. My arm was not even sore. OH has his last week ( AZ) and the same -no side effects except his arm was a bit sore for 48 hours. Talked to a few neighbours and two were the same as us, no side effects, the other (male) was laid up in bed for 48 hours, literally could not get out of bed.

Weird.

No it’s not woof, except in very rare and exceptional circumstances..apparently.
Thanks pasta, she's chipper enough on the phone, but that may be for my benefit.

Woofgang: I was told this by the GP -maybe they are doing trials in our area, but I was told the first dose of AZ was being followed up by a second dose of Pfizer. I found this strange and in fact my daughter commented exactly how you did. https://www.businessinsider.com/pfizer-astrazeneca-oxford-covid-vaccine-combined-trial-covid-19-coronavirus-2020-12?r=US&IR=T
I got the AZ and was told I would get it again
My granddaughter who is in her 20s had the AZ vaccine because of her work and had a really bad reaction. She couldn’t get out of bed for 2 days and felt ill for 4 days. I also had the AZ and had a mild reaction that lasted about a day.
Tony I have been wondering how Jen was going on. The same happened to my brother's wife. She had been in hospital for 2-3 weeks with at least some of the same problems as your OH when she caught Covid. I did put it on here you might have seen it.
Sorry No ladybider I didn't, but just I will have to wait and see.
Hi Milo2

That matches what I've seen. I also know of a 99 year old who had the AZ vaccine with no side effects whatsoever.
I'm glad you went for the vaccine and had no ill effects. My son (32) is also on medication that suppresses his immune system and had his AZ vaccination at the hospital where he works. He did feel slightly off the next day, as did my husband who is in his early 60s.

I am hoping that the GP was confused as they just can't "do a trial"
you have to give explicit permission to be in a trial

woofgang -I don't know why you seem so 'concerned'. It was not the GP that gave me the info it was the GP surgery Receptionist that booked me in for the Pfizer that told me this. Maybe she was mistaken. I don't know what you are trying to get at but its not cause for concern as far as I can see. The thread is about reaction and side effects of the vaccine.
// the other (male) was laid up in bed for 48 hours, literally could not get out of bed.//

no- man flu in a male
It's my turn tomorrow, got everything crossed there are no serious side effects.
Question Author
Just to clarify -I got the Pfizer vaccine and will be getting a second dose of the Pfizer vaccine in 12 weeks.
Question Author
Sam -Good Luck! I don't know if it helped but I took 2 paracetamols and hour before the vaccine, and every 4 hours for the next 24 hours (except during the night of course.)
good luck, apg, I'm glad it went well and I hope the second dose does the same.

thanks!
// I am hoping that the GP was confused as they just can't "do a trial"//

if they are gonna do it anyway, then they can - because it is not a trial, they were gonna do it ( Trials being radically different, dice and barred cages and fings oh and monkeys)
Collecting anonymised data after doing something you would do anyway is NOT a trial and is good practice

[have you audited XYZ? "oh no, it means collecting data which we cant do and so we have absolutely no idea if it is killing people or not. You see because the law says we cant do it!" is a well trodden path. - and is NOT a bar to audit]

the health care operative should have been counselled:
please do NOT say it is a trial when it is not, nor a secret experiment on ill little kiddies, nor that they have run out of rats, nor that you dunno why they are doing this you really dont, when in fact you know you are collecting safety data......
I got the AZ jab on Thursday. All day Friday i felt as though as i was coming down with the flu.Woke up Saturday morning as sound and as healthy as a newborn babe.Magic.
