picking up some cooked Turkey slices from the local butcher. Saves money and you're not left with an incredible hulk on Boxing Day. I just get enough for dinner and a sandwich the following day.

It is Paignotain, I buy a cooked roast chicken breast fillet for a Sunday roast for the two of us. Emmie- what foods do you like to eat?
i have some beef for tomorrow,
yes its a ready meal, as can't face cooking for just me
A duck breast fillet for me.
i like chicken mostly
I've bought hand carved sliced meat and made scrummy meals in the past - it's a good simple shortcut.

I have cooked a large piece of brisket, that will make meals and sandwiches for quite a while once cold and sliced.

I have two lamb shanks marinating too.
I've gone for a smaller bird - a partridge (not in a pear tree though).

Not a canary, Canary?
I dislike cooking but will make myself a proper dinner tomorrow.

Treated myself to a small lamb leg [my favourite meat] and will eschew Aunt Bessie and make my own Yorkshires. Champion.

My alternative Christmas dinner will be a big bowl of very garlicky red shrimp...along with some other bits and pieces tomorrow. I'm not a fan of roast dinners.
But, that is a good idea...as long as you have a decent butcher.
I pick up a turkey drumstick. Only a couple of quid and still lasts a few meals.
I've often gone down the same route that Paigntonian is suggesting and bought cooked turkey breast from the cold meat counter in Morrison's. (I'm referring to the proper 'carved from the bone' stuff here, not the inferior turkey roll slices).

Although I've got a frozen ready meal (beef in brandy sauce) for tomorrow's lunch, I might still nip along to Morrison's to see if they've got any cooked turkey left later this afternoon. (If past year's are anything to go by, they'll be selling it for well under half the regular price, just to get rid of it!).

A tip for heating it up: Wrap it in foil, together with some butter, to prevent it drying out.
The drumstick is tastier and moister than the crown.
I've decided I shall drive down to Pasta's tomorrow (I shall bring bagels and schmear) ... calling in on Paignton on the way.

Then up to Mamya's for boxing day,

No one need be alone at Christmas ;o))))
Don't forget, to forget you're tool bag, because someone will,( can you just have a quick look at this while you're here.
The van is always well stocked TC ;o)
Dont forget to take a rope.. you will need to tie the van down on Saturday night!
Such a kind gesture builder .
