Not normally one for sackcloth and ashes but having already lost one NHS colleague to Covid, tonight another friend and Theatre colleague has died in a hit and run incident after finishing work, I’d only spoken to him 3 minutes previously as I began my shift.

The driver has already been found and arrested therefore I’ll not comment further pending the investigation(hence I’ll not give a name), but given his injuries it’s safe to say they weren’t sticking to the speed limit.

RIP mate.

Horrendous.

RIP your pal. x
I'm sorry, Chill...so very sorry...x
what can one say but sorry mate, it's a very cruel world sometimes.
My condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.

Horror car crash down the road a few weeks ago. Driver allegedly overtook another vehicle at 90mph, lost control, smashed into tree. Currently 4 out of 5 are dead, age range from 16 to 21. If the sole survivor actually makes it, it will be a bloody miracle!

One has to wonder whether Covid has caused people to go loopy.
A few *days*ago
Oh, that's truly horrible. So sad...both accidents.
Yes, I do think covid is having a knock-on effect regarding crazy behaviours. Or, maybe not covid, but the lack of "normal".
Very sad, sorry for your loss Chill x
sorry to hear that, CD, must be a shock when you'd only just been talking to him.
Very sorry Chill.
More stress for your already stressful life.
My sympathy to his family.
That's dreadful chill, so sorry. xxx
How awful. Sorry for your loss and for the family x
"One has to wonder whether Covid has caused people to go loopy."

I don't think so, that's just a hook to hang the usual gross stupidity from the usual suspects on.
I am extremely sorry to hear of this

remember that your co workers reaction may be very different to yours. This can be very difficult to cope with. There will be someone in theatres who should have done the five stages of grief who can go over it with you ( Kubler Ross). A lot of people find this helpful whether they ask or not - discussing bereavement

make sure the bereavement doesnt degrade work relationships but if poss strengthens them - sorry about this. and yes 2020 can get worse. what I am saying is - - the grief can be managed
// "One has to wonder whether Covid has caused people to go loopy.//
am I on the right thread?

tiredness is a cause of end of shift carelessness - but again this is also being managed
I took the comment to be directed at the drivers, not the work colleague.
How dreadful. I am so sorry to hear this. What a shock it must have been for you.
The arrest has come up on my unwanted pop up
so to be clear - we can discuss it until charges are brought ( and he hasnt ) and then the sub judice rule kicks in

avoidable tragedy
Sorry to hear.
Omg am so so sorry xxx
