I think the "Karen and Ken" is very nasty. There are real completely nice normal people called Karen and Ken and misappropriating the names is cruel and thoughtless. When I was in my late teens, my own christian name was fashionable to be the butt of thoughless jokes. The implications were not as nasty as the karen thing but it was painful. attempts to remonstrate were met with "oh its not personal, can't you take a joke?" It wasn't a joke then and its not now.
but anyway, I think the same about F1, golf et al
Why should I fund that nonsense. Then I realise that the BBC isn't my personal TV and radio station. Even the stuff I have more of a choice over paying for (Netflix) shows a lot of things that I hate
yes, but I don't get that choice re golf and so on. BBC is not your persona; organisation either, so you shouldn't expect everything it funds to suit you
I have no idea what a Karen is, nor have I much desire to find out. I will say one thing though, podcasts cost next to nothing to make, so any funding Roy is contributing is a fraction of a penny.
