I disagree tat. The sum of 12 and 6 is 18. The product of 12 and 6 is 72 the quotient of 12 and 6 is 2 and (now I know) the difference of 12 and 6 is six

just refering to when at school we did a blackboard full of "sums", they had sums of the 4 main operations. Yes Sum does mean addition too, it also means an amount.

TCL, correct, in fact they only actually add, to subtract they use the compliment of a number usually 2s compliment and add that.
