We live in a small, close knit community/village. Have you newish neighbours that have moved in, that have given the impression that they are a “ bit above everyone else “ . Two Thursdays know and they have failed to come out to show appreciation for our NHS and other workers.

Seriously?
Doubt they'll be there long, somehow.
Their choice. It’s not compulsory. Don’t be judgmental.
it's up to them, my neighbours came out and clapped, banged pots and generally made a noise.
'Failed to come out'? It wasn't compulsory.
When they get a decent pay rise I shall gladly come out clapping and banging pots and pans.
Shop staff should be saluted too, they are also on the front line.
i think they were included boaty...
That's good.
i wondered what the noise was at first, went out to see most of the blocks with people clapping, very uplifting....
We didn't either....is that a problem? It is not something I would choose to do...I would donate a bottle of wine and a box of chocolates with others to be shared around or money to get some serious protection for those people putting themselves at serious risk but standing on a doorstep clapping? No, because it benefits no one.
i found it uplifting
No-one here did. No point they wouldn't hear us!
A few did here, but not many. Maybe your neighbours didn't know about it. I only knew because I read it on here...and we all know not everything is true on AB...;)
So they have 'given the impression' that they are a bit above everybody else. Wonder what impression they have of you? How utterly judgemental you are.
Nobody out clapping here, so I didn't bother. I thank the women on the tills every time I shop.
Full house here ( Geordies will do owt for a shindig) :0)
Not everyone round here claps, it's their choice. I've noticed some are putting rainbow posters in their windows which I think is lovely. One of the neighbour's children has drawn some in chalk outside their gate, I'm going to tell her she can do some for me on my drive.
I too think the rainbow posters are lovely. My nieces have done several. I'm very proud of them.
Have you made any effort to make them feel welcome?
“Close knit” communities can sometimes seem forbidding to newcomers.
