Do you seriously think anyone else -Corbyn?-could have done better?
Corbyn would have been too busy blaming the previous Tory Government for it all to do anything practical.
We were asked last week whether we thought the government were doing a good job as regards C19. Last week my answer was yes. This week, i'm not so sure. There are still thousands of front-line NHS staff without PPE, only a fraction of those same people have been tested (yet Boris and Charlie get 'mild' symptoms and are tested immediately). There is a lot of ambiguity as to just who is eligible for the government benefits among those self-employed. I know he's in self-isolation, but Boris does need to up his game and get a grip of his ministers. In my most humble opinion, as per usual.
Just because people dislike BJ and his government does not automatically mean Corbyn and his government would be any better , or give a better service to Britain.
agree with Ken. I thought they were doing their best in a bad situation, but it's becoming clear they've bungled it badly, way behind in testing because they didn't think it mattered, though how you're supposed to control a pandemic when you've no idea who or how many have got it, I don't know. Same for the benefits situation. They seem to be just making it up as they go, only a week or two late.
I largely agree with you, Ken but I also like to seek out reasons why things haven't happened.

The task this government has to deal with is enormous - unprecedented. Rather than constantly criticise it would be nice to see people supporting them. None of us like the situation we're in!
Tell me exactly why you think anyone else would have done any better, no one knows what the right thing to do is as this is a unique event. They are doing the best they can and if we stopped pestering them for daily updates they would have more time to do it.
Just because the majority on here suspect Corbyn would have been worse doesn't mean that Johnson is 100% bang on the money. He has dithered and delayed - and most probably would have done the same - and I'm not buying this 'logistics' problem as regards the distribution of PPE, etc. Not seen any mention of RAF troop carriers being used, for example, to ferry these essential items around the country. All we've seen is the photo opportunity of Matt Hancock helping (??) to load a lorry. More must be done and now.
In my opinion, some dishonesty has crept into the briefings which is sad.
I think that if they admitted mistakes they would be admired for their honesty and continue to get general support.
needawin - I don;t think for a moment that Boris's constituency voters are going to cut him adrift because he has made errors in s difficult situation.
Mistakes are made - it's how they are dealt with that matters - that remains to be seen in the long term.
