It's passing now... but still painful to breathe deeply. What IS this??
Happened to me once mine was a blood clot
It could be just tightness or somethng in the muscles between your ribs - I get it sometimes. Wouldn't mind knowing exactly what it is either actually.
where in your back does it hurt spine either side up down to the side below the ribs?
try calling NHS direct that is why they are there to give such advice.
pies, i think that is a truly awful thing to say, it may well be true, but hey babe have a heart.Follow it up with an explanation.... please !!

take mangopetes advice and ring the doc, asap x

let us know how you get on and good luck xx

Have you had any sort of infection? It could be pleurisy- I had pain in my back when I tried to breathe in. But go to Doc, I would.

Sorry to appear awful dove, although what i said was true I have some reservations about somebody posting things like that and waiting possibly hours for a response. What the **** ,is this thedoctorbank now?Im afraid i, as would anybody else who had a real problem seek proper advice, not log on in the hope some online folk, who are complete strangers recommend a sensible course of action

could be you have pulled/strained a muscle in your back, by twisting around mayby. I had something similar, it takes a while for back injurys to heal.
I had a bad chest infection recently (I had to go to A&E) and I felt like there was a tight band around my chest and a pain in my back. Go and see your doctor for a check-up.
this might sound wierd but are you a girl? I had a similar prob and it was just cos my bra was too tight!

I had a pain in my back and in my chest at the top of my breath like you.

Went to the doc's (as you should too) and it was pleuricy. Sounds like a medieval disease but is actually only inflammation of the lining of your lung. Cleared in a few days with anti biotics. Good luck
