Hiding Surgery

I am having a small procedure done that I would rather keep to myself.

I will need approx 1 week off of work which I will use annual leave for however I work closely with another person and I want an excuse as to why I am taking leave at short notice.

I dont HAVE to explain myself but we work together alot and would usually say what we were up to!

I work in a hospital so I cant say I am having another type of procedure incase the person offers to visit me!

Any suggestions!?

the good old family emergency and you don't really want to talk about it at the moment as it is too upsetting and you need to take it all in.

Visiting relatives is reasonably convincing but nothing too drastic as it'll be difficult to keep the story going. Or just using up some annual leave which you havent taken to get straight at home. Spring cleaning, decorating the spare bedroom that sort of thing.
