Would you even own up to been a bit of a prude if you did?
Pussycat Dolls (in Barsels thread), Page 3 (half) nude models, etc.
Why are some people so aghast at the human body?
I don't get it!
Just what *IS* offensive about human flesh?

Not a clue.
I think it's all just fine if properly prepared and cooked.
It's got to be properly cooked.
Nothing against flesh itself... the one and only thing that I find inappropriate is Page 3... purely because it is so misplaced in a paper. It is for titillation only, which has nothing to do with news, and I think, gives a bad impression to everyone.
The Pussycat Dolls are different, as their job (in theory) is music.
None of it offends me, but I think we also have to consider younger generations growing up too.

It's got to be properly cooked....and seasoned! Don't forget the seasoning.

In what way Pix?
Do we condition them into believing that the human body is in some way 'dirty'?
I watched it only because of the complaints. Nothing that kids can't see on MTV any time of the day. Didn't offend me.

I'd be a bit bothered if someone turned up for dinner dressed like that, but not on stage.
I didn't see it, but the objection seems to have been to some sort of bump-and-grind performance before the watershed, and to the fetish gear rather than nudity as such.
I don't think it's about flesh itself, it's the blatant sexuality of what covers it. The Pussycat Dolls didn't offend me in the slightest it was however trashy, they all looked like models from an S&M catalogue.
I think that is what we are doing, nailit. It's difficult for me to explain, as I'm not entirely sure why I feel that way.
Porn- no problem, it's honest and (in theory) you have to at least try to find it. It's normal and natural.
The same with the Pussycat Dolls, attractive women dressing up (and they are nowhere near naked) also seems normal. If others find them "sexy"- fair enough.
Page 3 seems entirely different and more belittling somehow, as it is casually to be leered at over your cornflakes. It isn't even nakedness, just topless- and the aim seems to be to sexualise breasts. Having breastfed for many years, often in public, but always discreetly, this kind of attitude really doesn't help.
Look at any thread here, where someone is trying to feed her baby, and they are seen as everything from attention-seekers to exhibitionists. I don't like the idea of making life even harder for new mothers and this doesn't help- particularly as (old-fashioned) newspapers tend to be left at home, where children are etc.
So, not because it is "naughty"- but because it shouldn't be.
If the day ever comes and it's all too much for your guests, ummmm, point the girls north for cheese and crackers chez moi.
I've just had a look in the interests of research. It wasn't as bad as I was expecting. Pretty standard stuff for that type of group these days I would have thought.
Up North would be the last place any half clad female would wish to go this time of year. The last 3 days in my local the heating has gone rogue. Everybody sits around imbibing looking like Nanook of the North as the air con is going full blast and it ain't hot mum.

Pix, I find nothing, (and neither does any other male that I know of) even remotely sexy about a breast feeding mother.
And I have never found anything titillating (excuse the pun) about a pair of knockers on page 3.

Maybe not, nailit, but obviously many did- as that was the only point to it x
Other reasons could be to brighten one's day, and to help reduce breastphobia in society.
Lol... :-). I remember wondering about it when I was quite a small child. I don't think it is healthy tbh.

Maybe Pix, …
As a teenager I got much more exited by Club, Penthouse and Mayfair than a few titties in the Sun ;-)

Black and white titty pics at that...

You've obviously never been on Bradshawgate, Bolton at 11.30 on a Friday night, the teetering heels and the crossed arms supporting the boobs!
I think the scene is repeated across the North, we're not nesh y'know!
Question Author
Can some one actually tell me what is offensive about the human body?
Is it pictures of breasts (page 3)?
A human erection (as opposed to an erection of a chimp)?
Female genitals?
What?
Just why is the human body seen as offensive?
Whatever state that its in?
