dixieland Yes I get this. Sometimes I feel like I can't breathe. I know this may sound really silly but there were 2 people in my life who were both very heavy smokers and I sometimes wonder.......well, you know what I mean? x
Start here:
https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/phantosmia/

As that link makes clear, it's usually something MINOR behind the problem but, as it's not gone away, you should get checked out by your GP, just in case there's anything more serious going on. (Back in my reaching days, our librarian had problems with phantom smells and it turned out that she'd got a brain tumour. While it's EXTREMELY UNLIKELY that you've got anything serious wrong with you, it still makes sense to consult a GP).

Thank you both, i have a GP appointment at the end of the month as it has been getting worse this last week and had me worried, so hopefully it will stop soon, thanks again. X
This is called cacosmia and is not at all uncommon, the most commonest cause by far is sinusitis.
no big deal.
Ah that makes sense sqad . I've had a cold/cough/sinus probs since the middle of August, so that explains it to me.

Thank you Sqad :)
dixieland, perhaps best for you to mention it to your GP if you think it's getting worse.
