with frequent trips to the loo,
have seen doctors and been given various meds including chlorestagel,
anyone heard of it. Am in pain lots of the time and don;t know where to turn to next. Am under gastroenterology but can't get an appointment until
25th september with the doctor at the hospital.
have been getting lower abdominal pain almost constantly. should i phone the GP and ask them to see me, as they say im at my wits end.

I can't see that you've got anything to lose by consulting your GP and, of course, you might have a great deal to gain. So it seems worth a try to me.

If he/she is prepared to prescribe 'off-label' medications (i.e. those which aren't licensed for use specifically with your condition), you might be offered colesevelam or a similar alternative:

Ofcourse you should. Why shouldn't you ? You are suffering dreadfully, it sounds awful.
You're in your own hell by the sounds of it,but keeping up a brave appearance. Contact your GP ASAP and tell him/her you can't go on any longer, let them know how desperate you really are and what you might be tempted to do to end your misery. Sorry to say that, but mental health is sometimes considered more important nowadays.
I've been on Lansoprazole 30mg gastro-resistant capsules prescribed by my MD for at least ten years and suffer no acid problems at all.
Of course you should see you GP Emie. Today. That's what they are there for! You shouldn't suffer needlessly.
Have you tried Loperamide for temporary relief? Known as Immodium but there are cheaper generic types available OTC which are just as good.

good morning all, have Lopermide already, it doesn't always work, but will give the GP another go.
thanks for all the concern, its been a rocky road that's for sure.
Never had it but really feel for you. Go back to the doctor. Good luck emmie xx
Half a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda in about half a tumbler of tepid water settles my acid problems. Not saying it will work for everyone but can't harm you.
Nice to see u back here after so long but sorry to read youre suffering.

My son has similar symptoms & gp was useless! A&E are best for a prognosis & treatment.
