I wonder, however, how she got across the utter bleakness of the place on a cold January day or the smell from the river after 3 weeks of sun? It is not a favourite haunt of mine.

BM was holiday destination of choice for my mum and dad when I was youngster. My father and I would go fishing and mum would spend afternoon playing bingo.

That is wonderful. I have only been once, about 25 years ago. We hired a boat on the Norfolk Broads and moored up at Gt. Yarmouth for a day. I remember thoroughly enjoying it.
