Well I know it took about 90 hours to seperate siamese twins joined at the head back in 2001 I should think that would be one of the longest operations in history. But the most protracted medical operation reported lasted for 96 hours and was performed from February 4 to 8, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois, USA. During the operation, Mrs Gertrude Levandowski had an ovarian cyst removed, resulting in a weight loss of 280 kg (616 lb or 44 st) to 140 kg (308 lb or 22 st).
