Reminds me I am booked for one on the 17th April
Spirometry in the morning
Bone density scan 2nd May, and a visit to a rheumatologist soon.
After my transfusion the other week, I am now diagnosed with acute anaemia, VEREY low B12 and Vitamin D, and a high level of SLE antibodies.
Shall I just book into the knackers yard now, instead?

Poppycock! Don't you dare.......you've had a tough time, Ferlew...it takes its toll.....

Good care and looking after yourself now and you'll be as fit as a fiddle again!....x
No, stay around for a while yet .
I know what you mean, I call up the cab company and she asks - hospital, eye unit, dentist or GP?

Sometimes feels like the only outings I get.

Still keeps us batting, keep on keeping on Ferlew.xxx
I have to book in for one as well. I'm also very low in VitB and VitD and have very low blood pressure.
Maybe you're ready for the knackers yard ummm :-)
I reckon so Anne.

I would never have thought having vitamin deficiencies could make you feel so ill.
It was only once I started have b12 jabs I realised how awful I'd felt before I had them Ummmm. Hope they get you, and ferlew, sorted.

Picked up my meds today, ruddy iron tabs, plus Colcecalciferol to be taken FOUR times a day, plus a letter to book myself into rheumatology online in a choice of 3 hospitals. (None of which currently show any slots free)
Is this a new thing then, booking your own out-patient appts?
Choose and Book , or whatever they call it now has been around a while - supposed to save on awkward appointments being sent out that have to then be rearranged.
Ferlew....I too have iron problems but it's low ferritin, also low B12 and vit D so I know what you're going through. I don't take iron tabs as I'm coeliac as well but better for you ...or me is liquid iron which is Sytron or sodium Feredetate which does help (don't take iron with tea as that can reduce the effectiveness) I also have D jabs and B12 jabs which have just started.

I have researched vitamin deficiency and was very surprised at just what it does to the body. With the B12 though you're lucky if you get diagnosed, a lot aren't especially if within their range even if on the low side as docs don't put much store by it as I've found out.

It can cause neurological problems, loss of balance, dementia like symptoms, fatigue and breathlessness which a lot suffer.... And then diagnosed with something else ...especially heart problems when the symptoms point to B12 deficiency.

I hope you feel better soon... I'm hoping I will be too as I am at my lowest ATM and can do very little without feeling unwell. Best wishes to you and others who are on the same course.
I really like Choose and Book, Ferlew.......I usually have a choice of three.....two are clean, organised and run on time with free parking...the third is grubby, badly organised and has very high parking charges....

Take care....you too, Dunnitall....x

Dunnital, I have yet to find out for sure, but I am thinking maybe this SLE (runs in family) is at the bottom of a lot of my daft ailments, or if not the cause then it's certainly not helping. Mam's just presented as a wolf shaped or butterfly shaped mask on her face which she had to take care to keep away from sunlight. Brother's last flare resulted in him being bed bound for quite a number of weeks when his 2 children were very small.
As I say I know little of it other than that, hoping the specialist appt comes through before too long.
(The one I was supposed to book online, and gave up and rang the hospital, who said I would hear by 20th April)

Hope you can buck up soon too Dunnital :)
dunnital...the important thing about diagnosing B12 early is that one develops a neurological condition called ..subacute degeneration of the cord.
That condition is the only neurological condition that is reversible with treatment.
thanks sqad, I'm hopeful of getting reversed :-)

Dunnitall, that is just scary to say the least.
