I posted a while ago when my mother passed away and the initial post mortem was inconclusive. I thought those of you who'd expressed sympathy would like to know that we've got a result from the follow up post mortem and fortunately it does not have to go to inquest. Cause of Death was bronchopneumonia - which was more or less expected, but it ruled out a stroke or heart attack etc. We'll be getting a full death certificate in a few weeks.

Thanks Tilly - it does bring it all back but now I can go back to the house and go through the photos and see and remember all the good times, and soon I should be able to do more with the house ready to sell it.
Have you got to do the Probate application?
Question Author
The probate went through a few days after, Tilly. Of course there's still loads to do, but we are moving forward.
Did you manage to do the Probate without a death certificate?
That's so good, Taich.......I had to wait eighteen months for an inquest and it's horrid having it hanging over you.......lots to do for you now, I know but you can, as you say, move on....take care...x

Tilly, the Coroner issued an 'interim' Certificate which is ok for most organisations. It's only insurance policies where cause of death is important that need the full certificate. There was no doubt that she was no longer with us and there were no suspicious circumstances, it was just sudden and unexpected and she'd not seen a doctor for a few months (she hated going).

Ouch Gness, that must have been awful.
I didn't realise that you had had an interim certificate, Taichi. I'm not being nosy, just trying to help, as I went through the whole process a year ago, when my dad died.

No probs Tilly :) BTW my maiden name (and Mum's married name) is almost identical to your user name here.
Take care, Taichi. I hope you get it all done and dusted soon.
