I bought an electric water flosser from Lidl yesterday - £20, one of their Special Buys.

I have real trouble flossing my teeth as they are crowded and overlap. I also have a big gap that traps food but is inaccessible with toothbrush, floss or toothpicks. Rinsing with mouthwash doesn't help either.

I cannot believe how good this thing is - messy to use but, by gum, it does the job. So good I did a happy dance!

If you've been thinking of buying one, get your skates on and get down to Lidl

I've been looking at those Hc - can't get there until Sunday fingers crossed they have some left. I have the same problem as you, my dentist is always moaning at me.

I've been back today and bought another one for one of my son's who has the same sort of teeth as me. Hope you get one, Margo.
I've thrown the leaflet away now but I think they had another gadget for flossing for about £5/6.

They do - I had something very similar a few years ago. It's simply an electric toothpick that vibrates. This is the one I had

The Lidl one

It's handy if you eat out a lot, can slip it in your handbag and use it in the ladies but the jet flosser is MUCH more effective.
HC is it an okay thing for sensitive gums and teeth
Thanks that's the one. I'll get the £2O one if I can, but if not I'll try the second one, thanks for the recommendation x

I wouldn't like to guess, jenny. I imagine that cold water shooting on to your teeth and gums would hurt if you have sensitivity but I don't know if it would be any better with warm water.

If you can't tolerate the squirty water thing at the dentist you won't tolerate this.
I can't tolerate the dentist full stop HC - LOL

Do sorta baulk at the string floss between teeth especially when I am trying to get it out, panic - then blood.

Hate anything to do with any of my orifices as you can read LOL
You know the string floss goes between the teeth - does that thing just emit water ie nothing actually between the teeth - sorry for the Third Degree LOL
Lidl is only a 5 min walk
'Hate anything to do with any of my orifices as you can read, LOL'

Hey, Jenny, can you cope with ear wax?
JJ- sounds like the £5 would be better for you.
would you believe it for some other reason or not - never ever have wax - just after cleaning the ears about an hour a go - waste of time - best would be remnants of shower water
Lucky you, Jenny. That's one blessing anyway.
i have had a water flosser for many years, and it is the best thing I ever got. Yes it it is ok on sensitive teeth/gums but use warm water, not cold. In fact I have been to the hygienist this morning and been given high praise for the healthy state of my gums. Even better if you use it in conjunction with an electric toothbrush.
That's right Tilly - with my hearing loss you would think I would have loads but thank God and His Holy Mercy - don't

Ubasses - thanks for that reply - may give the little bunner a go.
Question Author
Nothing goes between your teeth, jenny - it just aims and shoots water.

ubasses, wish you'd told us about yours years ago :)
that's good then - I'll use warm water then - trying to hold onto the gnashers that I have left - all but 4
If only you had asked hc :)
ok HC - bought a flosser today - will give it a wee go and let you know how I get on.

I got the last one in Lidl. My dentist at one time (headcase) literally got down on her knees and begged me to floss my teeth - she said they will all fall out - that made me nervous - her begging but I couldn't cope with those strings between the teeth - so a little warm water will go a long way LOL - thanks for letting us know about them.
