I have had a problem since 2005. I am 67, and over the years I have been given tablets, ( no good) and poked and prodded but they cant find anything wrong with me.
There is no pattern to it. I sometimes get an uneasy feeling in my tummy sometimes not. I cant always make it to the toilet in time whether I am out walking or asleep in bed.I am at my wits end. Anyone have a similar priblem ? I am healthy otherwise.

I think the clinic is more likely to be able to suggest ways to make the situation better for an individual issue, than a long distance treatment suggestion. What best suits one may not suit another.

OG yes I agree I was merely wanting to know if anyone else had a similar problem it appears MM has x
about 5 years now, consultants are baffled why I can go and a short time later need to go again..and not just a wee wee if you get my drift ! no obvious sign of water retention..the usual tests seem to discount that...it's like I have an overflow tank ! lol.. blummin nuisance as I always have to be aware of where a loo is..and sitting in a cinema or theatre etc is a nightmare as I always have to go out half way..
Have noticed an increase in urgency this year, 54 year old female, it's not too bad when I get the urge to go, I can make it to the bathroom, but it's the sudden 'I need to go now' which upsets me.

Always a decent amount on each occasion.
GP suggested 'mesh' which I don't think is a good idea.

Pelvic floor area is not too bad.

Am also up and down through the night, but not as often as Minty.
that was my trigger point Albs..must be an age related thing..boo hoo...
Sqad will hate a link here, but it explains better than I can... for some of you, the retraining is worth a go if you haven't tried it yet

tried all that Pix... even had hypnotherapy....
Fair enough... I wouldn't avoid water though- just caffeine xx
don't have any caffeine.. no coffee and decaf tea... drink plenty water early doors and reduce intake to nil after 8pm
I don't have anything to eat or drink after 8pm either.

Interesting read, thanks Pix

However, to be disgustingly honest, there are times when I get the 'I need a wee now' sensation, no matter how much clenching and tightening goes on, it just, er well, sorry for the image.
It's not a pleasant situation
we should form a committee ! lol
shouldn't that be commit-pee?

Shouldn't giggle, it's not a pleasant situation to be in and can be most distressing at times.

I can handle it when I'm home alone but am worried about it happening when family is around.

Seanne, I hope it gives you some comfort to know that you are not alone xx
It is well known by all my friends that there has to be a loo available..long walks with dogs out for sure !
Keep drinking water in the evenings too. For one thing, your bladder needs to relearn whether it is full or not- it needs to fill up sometimes. And stopping drinking makes the urine stronger, irritates the bladder more and makes the urgency worse.

I have tried not drinking after 6pm, makes no difference. One emergency doctor I had for a bad flare while on holiday threw something new in the mix, she thought it was structural and I maybe needed something hoisted up with a small op. I have had only one child no other misses etc and a hysterectomy.
Question Author
I have kept diaries for the doctor, done everything. I just get the urgency to go.
my scans did not indicate anything physical seanne... just "something I have to live with" according to GP ... :0(

I fear after 12 years there is no answer for me either MM x
