Had half an hour chat with the Doctor yesterday.
Managed to get some answers and some clarification. Heads up to the man he was very accommodating indeed, and didn't seem to mind explaining things for me.
The scan of head shows no tumours at all, nor does the abdominal one show any tumour in any of his other organs.
However, the cancer is in all lobes of both lungs.
An MDT meeting decided that no further treatment would help or be offered, but he will be discharged to home soon with MacMillan care.
He was a lot less confused when I visited, and looks a lot better than he has this last two months.
We will both be pleased when he can come home :)

Thanks for asking :)
Just trying to get into the new routine, he doesn't want folk in, but I have had to be firm about the whole thing, and lay down a couple of do's and don'ts. Need folks like that on our side, not dreading to call in.
Now on some steroids which are helping with appetite, just feeling our feet really.

( "Just in case" pack arrived yesterday :( - another tiny reminder of what is to come )
I'm sure there are times when you think your home has been taken over by " carers" , hopefully the steroids will help with Mr, ferlew appetite, take care .
has he been seen by speech therapist ? swallow mechanisms begin to fail..FIL had to see said therapist..I got him those build up soup things
I was actually pleased to have the presence of nurse etc as it was the only real talk I got !.. thinking of you Ferlew xx

I'm pretty grateful for the 'company' too.
Swallowing looks as if it is just starting to be troublesome, there is a small tumour behind the trachea, keeping an eye on that. Offering mostly wet foods, it does help if I remind him to hold his head up when swallowing, instead of looking down.
Pleased to say no more hallucinatory episodes since he started the Diazepam. Phew.
Glad things are more organised but yes, you're right it's your home so a few guidelines are allowed and should be followed.

Don't even think about the 'just in case' - make the very best of what you have now.x
Good morning. Hope you both slept well, and feeling good today .
