//There will be a one year transitional period to allow retailers to sell off old stock.
This means that from May 21, 2017 onwards the banned products will no longer be offered for sale. //
No one compensates them, this has been on the way for over a year now. If their stock control has been so poor they are left with unsaleable stock that's their fault. It is now illegal to sell tobacco products that are not in plain packs , cigarettes can only be sold in packs of 20. Tobacco is a minimum of 30g and a plain pack.
I have just bought tobacco for my daughter £9.96 for a 30 g pack is the cheapest that Tesco now sell.
As I have said many times before, the new tobacco rules are ALL about making smoking less attractive to children in the hope of stopping them from starting in the first place! The current generation of smokers are a lost cause, they will smoke until they die , once they have all killed themselves the world will be a healthier, cleaner and safer place!
