Hiya,

Can you please advise how I can remove acryllic nails without having to go back to the nail shop!  I

want to have Gel nails put on afterwards and wondered if my nails were going to be in a real state after having acryllic nails for 2 years!!!

Or can anyone recommend a product that REALLY does work to strengthen your own nails?  Mine have always been like paper...hurendous...can't do anything with them.  I've tried different products, years ago and nothing worked to strengthen them to allow me to grow them.

Thanking you loads in advance.

Buy yourself some nail varnish removed with acetone and an orange stick.  Pour to remover into a bwol and steep your paws in there for a while, with the orange stick gently peel away the nail - don't overly force it - if it's stuck fast stick your paw back in there until it comes off relatively easy.

If you do it like this the nail underneath should be in relatively good condition, but I suggest you buy a 4 way buffer and give them some TLC too.

Hope that helps :)

oops, forgot to answer the next part of your Q!

Sally Hansen does a range of strengthener which is very good - it's clear stuff and you can get it in Asda :)

In relation to strenthening your nails i agree with Dakota the Sally Hansen stuff is great, i got mine in superdrug its in a green bottle, and my nails were wrecked from the amount of nail varnish i used to wear but the Sally H stuff realy strengthened my nails, they cn get prety long now befor they snap.
Hope this helps you it did me i bought some plain acetone from chemist. you have to leave your fingers soaking for a while but it does do the job.
Good idea ingram - I didn't even know you could get pure acetone! :)  But acetone is the key, whatever you buy, good luck :)

Thankyou very very much all....

I shall be taking myself to the chemist today and purchasing acetone and sally hansen products!

Once again, thanx all.

Have a fabulous day..JH xx

Should you not have any success with Sally Hensen stuff (didn't for me but I did try it) I can recommend sth else.

I was a biter for 25 years and stopped the habit using a product called Nailtiques. NOT the cheapest product on the market, but along with willpower, this stuff stopped me biting and my nails are now the envy of my friends!

It worked as it made the nails grow quicker (and stronger) so I could see the results quicker.

I found the stuff in a local beauticians but it isn't widely available.... although i'm sure you can buy it off t'internet somewhere.

soak tehm off with water!
