I justgot up and punched his lights out.....went down like a sack of spuds.....we called the police....He was cautioned, but he didn't say what I had done so I wasn't....he apparently felt guilty and we stayed the rest of the day until he sobered up a lot....they seperated that week and eventually divorced.....She is now married to a lovely man, have 2 teenage children and live not far from us in Bexhill On Sea
So what is the worst thing I've ever forgiven and forgiven for ?
That I should have maybe seen the tell tell signs that this man was abusive from the start when they were courting and didn't say anything, and was always going to be abusive and bad news when he married our friend....Even at the wedding there were bad vibes and friction...Always felt guilty about that, but she says there's nothing I could have done...I could have perhaps warned him or something...I don't know.
Younger days eh?

My worst thing for which I've been forgiven is having an argument with my dad when my mum was very ill. It was terrible. I felt like the worst being from hell. I went to see them the next day to apologise, and all the doors were locked. I thought they'd disowned me - and I wouldn't have blamed them.
Thankfully, my dad opened the door and gave me a hug while I blubbed on his chest.

Thanks Tilly/Snowy
Just maybe, keep thinking, could have saved her nearly 2 years of misery and mistreatment.....She loved him though, as that was the strange thing, until she just had enough.
Main thing is that she's so happy now and got a lovely family.... She's just like another sister to me. :-)

I forgave my mother many things - like when she tried to commit suicide. I was there thankfully and saved her life.
She forgave me many things too - I got very drunk one night (we slept in the same room) no other rooms LOL in the house
Apparently I stripped to the "born child" effect - and I kept asking her for a kiss all night - ah Ma, give us a kiss - all night she had to do this - so until she died - she blamed it on the Pernod. LOL.
I apologised for my behaviour the following morning and she said - You would do it for me - so that was her and I back to being good friends again.

You're right there, pixie....would have fallen on deaf ears simply because she was smitten and in love with him, no matter how badly he treated.

Can never quite understand just why women don't leave abusive partners and husband's.....Perhaps children are involved....Once they start hitting and being abusive, they very rarely stop unless they get serious help and want too because they realise they are doing wrong.
Snowy,
If were you, in those days, don't know whether would have ever forgiven someone who caused so much violence and seemed to keep on doing it....You were brave and good for you....Thank goodness you finished it when you did. x

Forgiveness is a word I detest, Nailit.....every two weeks as a child at confession asking God, through a creepy priest on the other side of the grill, to forgive me for......well I had to make the sins up.........
What sort of man spends hours listening to other folk's confessions?
I don't ask for forgiveness ever....If I do or say something I mean it and if I'm crossed I can ignore and not let it bother me but forgive?... No......x
