Has anyone any tips for coping with gallstone pain whilst waiting for an operation (a long wait!).

I think the general advice is to reduce your fat intake and try to keep your weight down.

My wife went through the same....i'll ask her when she gets in

Thanks for the advice, but have been doing that from beg. of August when first diagnosed. I've been really strict about fat intake and lost over a stone in weight - but have just had another bad flare up.Thanks anyway!

someone I know has been suffering too like you, poor thing!

He's cut out all caffeine and is only drinking peppermint or camomile tea - seems to help! (Also no milk in decaff coffee)

Might help...... I dunno know!

I had same prob but have got mine under control with diet so here goes, very low fat, no spicey food or rich food stick to plain simple food cut down or out caffeine and try a probiotic drink. It works for me so good luck.

Thanks everyone for your advice - had an emergency operation on Tues. and got rid of the beasts - unbelievable size!! Now on road to recovery hopefully.
