I have just been prescribed the contraceptive pill Cilest but am VERY dubious about using it after some bad reviews-especially weight gain! Any more info/experiences from anyone?

my wifes been on it for at least the ten yrs weve been together..no problems at all.
weight gain when you're on teh pill isn't actually *because* of the pill, it's because your appetite can get slightly larger, it's different for everyone.  I had no probelms regarding weight when I was on it, however it gave me horrific mood swings and I became very depressed which my GP attributed to that particular brand of pill.  Like I say, it's different for everyone.  Try it for 3 months and then you'll have adequate time to see if there are any side effects.
sorry, I should have made that clearer.  Being on the Pill can (but might not) increase you appetite but it's actually up to you what eat to fill that hole.  Just snack on healthy stuff and I'm sure you'll be fine.

they say it ups your appetite, ive been on it for 3 years and my weight has stayed the same where as my friend as been on it for 6 years, she was a size 8 now she's a 16. i just think that eating heathily and being aware of what may happen will help you. as long as your sensible you will be fine  x x

Hiya

I was on cilest for years and years, probably about 10 yrs actually.  It suited me brilliantly.  I had tried about 3 other pills before eventually going on cilest, and the other ones all gave me bad side effects, like really bad PMT, weight gain etc.  With cilest absolutely no weight gain at all plus brilliant clear skin!

I began taking cilest a month ago and i've already lost a half stone in weight. Unfortunately contraceptive pills effect everybody differently so don't judge them on what other people say. I have experienced breakthrough bleeding but this always happens when i switch pills.
