I am going to see a podiatrist tomorrow, as I have a toenail which is beginning to curl inwards and it is beginning to hurt. I cannot get under it to cut it myself. It's not red or inflamed, just a blooming nuisance.

Any experience/ideas as to what the podiatrist will do. Will it hurt? I am not looking forward to it but I don't want it to become any worse.

I figured it was best to get it all out of the way in one go, then it all heals together. Looking back it would have been far more of a faff and time-consuming to have them done separately. I was back and forth to podiatry though with it as they didn't heal well at first and there were some burns from the chemicals but as I can't bend very well to reach my feet, it was...

Use the keepnet, no one will notice.
It's ok here Tilly, just ignore shoots, that infamous flirt!
Ahh I've got a landing net. Net curtains are long gone.
I too have a landing net but I did not need it today.
Tilly, I have a pair of pale blue suede lace up ankle boots with killer stiletto heels. Oh to have an excuse ( or the guts ) to wear them agai
They were my Fairy Godmother boots.
Tilly, good luck tomorrow, let us know how it goes xx

Sibs, I'm no fool. I know that Shoots only flirts with me because I might buy one of his lovely dogs. I can see through him!

Anyway back to my toe. Do you think that soaking my toe in a spritzer might help, Shoots?

Togo, net curtains are still de rigueur in Stoke!
Totally blanked today, my lad had two commons, but I couldn't tickle so much as a gudgeon.....
Pale blue suede lace up ankle boots. My head is swimming.
Whose flirting?
I think many old soaks avail themselves of a spritzer and thereby feel better.

Daisy, your Fairy Godmother boots sound lovely! You obviously do not have a potential ingrown toenail.

Togo, I never thought of Nailit! Thanks for that.

'Tilly, I have it done regularly with two and there is very little pain, especially at the stage you are'

That is comforting, Sibs. Thank you.
Tilly, cream your feet and that nail daily after your shower
For heavens sake please stay off topic!

Honestly....
Thankfully not, Tilly.
I believe they can be painful and need immediate attention.
Togo, swimming is better than drowning

OK, Daisy. It is going to get £35 worth of attention, tomorrow.

I am not looking forward to it. :-(
I had an ingrowing toenail a year ago. A man at the hospital clinic cut it back a bit so it didn't hurt for a while, but after that I had to have an op. Local anaesthetic, cut it away down the side, phenol on the pad beneath it to discourage it from curling again; bathe and change dressings for about 6 weeks. They said it might recur anyway. A year on it hasn't, but the toe still isn't fully healed - no pain at all but still bruised.
