in the last few days I have had a pain in my left leg, just at the back toward the inside of my knee, it started off above my knee, yesterday it extended to half way down my inner calve. It feels like a bruise but no sign of anything. I am on my feet a lot at work, aged 57 and generally in good health, probably about three stone over weight, I dont drink or smoke.

Sounding like a varicose vein?

Sorry Ratter. You are coming through loud and clear.I would love to offer you some medical advice but feel I am not qualified. With luck sqad will appear and ask some more probing meaningful questions. Do you get pins and needles near the site btw?
Question Author
No, no pins and needles. just feels bruised.
Possible knee joint wear?? As I say I don't have the knowledge to help. I may be wrong but I thought varicose veins were raised near the surface of the skin and visible. My wife literally frog marched me to the Dr on Thursday thinking I may have the beginnings of ulcerated varicose ezcema. Had a history of aortic and bi femoral bypass so it was suspected it was a possible vascular problem. :-(
Sounds a bit like a Bakers Cyst .
They usually come up on the back/inside of the knee .

No not a problem with the joint, I think it's closer to the surface.
DVT??
Question Author
No Shaney, not a bakers cyst, no swelling anywhere. And I don't think it is dvt. either, well I hope not!!
