Is there any way of finding out how long the waiting list is in a particular hospital for a particular op?

I am aware that emergency cases will be given priority and that the list is always changing.  However, even a guideline would be of great help to me. :-)

Thanks

A lot of hospitals are now publicising their waiting lists.  Go on to www.nhs.uk, select your local NHS country (top right), click on hospitals and you’ll be asked to search for your hospital.  Once you can find your way onto your hospital web page, there may be a page detailing waiting times.

Hope that makes sense

Good luck
You could ring the hospital and ask to speak to your consultant's waiting list officer.
Just a little point you may not be aware of. Routine operations - most patients are actually put onto a waiting list to go onto the waiting list! That way the final waiting list times are kept within guidelines. I hope that makes sense!

Ask to speak to the PALS department in your local hospital  - its the patient advisory dept confirming times
