I know I'll get flak for this, but here goes...

I'm not from the UK. I don't live in the UK. But I spent some time this morning reading a 3 page article in the Sunday Times about the incredibly poor way that British Soldiers have been treated if wounded in battle.

Stories of waiting lists, no medical help, no govt action. No uniformed visitors for fear of upsetting members of hospital staff. Swimming is part of the therapy for amputees, but up to last week amputees were told to leave a swimming pool as they were upsetting the children - they have to use a public one as the hospital doesn't have facilities.

The article further mentioned that although things are starting to pick up through the actions of various celebrities - Jeremy Clarkson take a bow - there's still a long way to go.

I'm always touched by the sacrifices made in war, not by governments or faceless armies but by ordinary blokes with wives and children that need them back.

Help for Heroes is a charity set up to help. Many on here preach about charity starting at home. Lets see them put their money where their mouths are. http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/

Anyone who knows me on here will know I'm anti war. I am pro people though, and very pro-hero. I'm making a donation today - will you?

No. i have also been unwell and am subject to waiting lists for things, but you dont see people making donations to me. there is also no hydrotherapy pool at my local hospital so i have to go to the public pool, and show off my scars to all and sundry. However, i go to the adult only sessions so there is no kids to scare. Soldiers get paid for what they do, and at the moment there is no national service, so they are not comppelled to do it. They chose it of their own free will, and it would be a stupid man or woman who didnt think abut the consequesnces and what they might be of going to war and fighting people
Yes I will be making a donation and thru the bfpo shop I will sending some Naafi provisions to our soldiers in the theatres of war.
It is shameful how our soldiers young and old are treated.
I sympathise with your plight bedknobs but you're reasoning is that soldiers get paid..they don't get paid enough and they shouldn't have to wait for treatment
this goverment is s***e
i certainly don't agree the the war but i do support our troops!
Surely if they didn't volunteer, then there would be national service?
