The answer is that not all men do and not all women do
Personally, i love it. And horror of horrors... i am a WOMAN!
my fella doesn't "need" it, but hey, guess what - I love it!   You just know some very stereotypical folk I guess Col.

I love it as well. Sometimes guys get a bit freaked out to find a woman likes porn, but it doesn't take them long to get over it!

I discussed this with a guy I know and he reckons that men just like the visual stimulation as an aid to masturbation, but they don't 'need' it, it's just nice if they can get it.

I feel the same way!

sounds liek you are a woman who does not like men using porn. Me and my wife both love it!

I am a male who enjoys it married to a woman who doesn't understand it and why men need it

To continue -

I think women feel threatened if they think their man 'needs' stimulation outside his relationship, and they don't view pornography in that way.

Personally, if you think of relationship as 'steak and chips', and porn as 'apple pie and ice-cream', then you can see that a man likes his steak, but a nice desert, completely different, is nicec as well. Not 'instead of' but 'as well as' if he's not full, and fancies something different off the menu to finish off .... so to speak!

I quite like it myself too. Ahem.
I'm a woman and I like it.  Agree with the answers already on here, I also find its a good way to find out new things to try, it is a turn on but a lot of women may not see it like that.  Maybe they feel insecure and feel that their partner finds the porn more of a turn on than them, why not try aksing your wife to watch it with you and see how she feels about it then, she may change her attitude towards it.
I'm a man and I'm thoroughly against pornography. I believe that when a man and woman love each other they should share their bodies in the way that nature intended.
with whom, Champagne?

What does "the way that nature intended" mean?

Does that mean you advocate no condoms? Does it mean vaginal-only sex? No toys?

Not trying to pre-empt your response, but would like to know what you mean!

Look. Men and women are different. And it's well documented that for the vast majority of men, the sexual urge can be greatly increased through visual stimulation.

As a comedian on tv one said - "Women - seen one naked... want to see 'em all naked".

Fact is, mostly, the personality doesn't even come in to the equation. Hell, the face doesn't.

I'm married to a woman who wont look at porn and complains about me looking or watching it. BUT !!! she never complains when i try out new techniques to satisfy her. Where does she think i learned them ??? Its better that i watch porn than get myself a mistress.

I think from the cross section of answers here it is clear that quite a lot of women do like porn, I think attitudes have changed and that it is more readily available to all now.   Maybe women were just not exposed to it and therefore did not develop a taste for it.  I definitely like it and I know many women who do, and I saw a woman on TV the other day who makes porn for women and they said they can hardly keep up with the demand.  For those that don't like it that is fine but I don't think you can generalise.
of course Champagne since you have previously been all girl... now that you're a man you can probably couple with yourself? Would certainly save on a lot of time and drinks.
I don't know any men who "need" porn. Most of us need food, water, and oxygen, but can live without porn.

The original intention of this query was not whether women liked porn more so what they thought of their partners liking it i.e. when they unwittingly find a razz mag under the bed or pics on the hard drive does their opinion of this man they thought they knew change?

Do they feel inferior?  Do they feel more self concious?

Does the content of the photos (various) also change they way that they think their partners brain perceives sex and women in general?

Well I have no problem with it and my partner never has to hide it, what's the point.  So many men have a 'secret' sex life, I have learned through experience to encompass and celebrate my partner's sexuality.  It never makes me feel inferior or self concious.
A lot of men like porn, because it satisfies their natural need for sexual stimulation, quite simply. Some women are offended by it, i think because they are intimidated by the women and feel as though they alone aren't enough for men. But, porn and sex are two very separate things for men from what i can tell. For example, most men would feel intimidated themselves if they were in a situation like the ones u see in some porn films, they're just a fantasy or form of entertainment. Thats what i think neway.
