Hi Linda

I am in my 60's and I take multivitamins - Sanatogen Gold (for the over 50's)    I also take thyroid tablets but I do not suffer from blood pressure.   I feel fine.

One of the symptoms of some thyroid problems is tiredness.  She should therefore get her thyroid and tablets checked as she may need a different dose.

Perhaps you could coaxe your Mum to go back to her GP for another check up. I hope she feels better soon Linda.

As cathyhuns says, she should have her thyroid medication level checked by a blood test at least yearly, six months is better.  One of the main contributors to the tired feeling has nothing to do with vitamin intake, though.  See if you can encourage your mother to become more physically active.  Many gyms and ealth clubs have programs for elderly people. Often there is a significant discount as well.  I have friends whose parents reported remarkable improvement in, not only energy levels, but mental alertness after just a few sessions...
I was told to avoid gingsen as I have high blood pressure.
