I have fallen in love with a house that is for sale and Mr O likes the look of it too. We are going to view it this afternoon.
The only problem is that there is no way we could ever afford it without a lottery win. The reason I want to view it is that I am hoping to find something about it I don't like so I will stop obsessing about it.
Anyone ever had a similar obsession about something?

Mais oui Monsieur le Builder, but if je posts le link, vous will avez un idea of le parlous state of our finances.
Nous sommes approximately £100k short of le asking price apres we vend votre maison :-(
No never
But I do look at houses on rightmove that I cannot afford
I also look at house similar to mine for decorating tips
Mais sérieusement, je pensais que £ 100k pourrait acheter l'ensemble de Whitby ?
Question Author
Ric.ror, I have looked at houses many times on Rightmove but this is the first time I have made an appointment to go view one.

No, I think it is a "woman" thing, its just window shopping on a grander scale.

I never look at anything that I don't want, don't need, or cant afford.

Damn dyslexic keyboard
i suppose mr_o wants more room for the sheep
Think of the vendors having to put up with time wasters and nosey parkers
Where will the flock go?

Ratter, I am the least materialistic person I know. I posted a while ago about being given £150 with a proviso I had to spend it entirely on myself. It is still sitting in the bank.
This house has got under my skin
Mmm, 100 big ones. Muchas gelt, j'agree.

Mais, mon ami, Dave au Soleil has been known to blow such wedge pour un Hog Kawasakie, n'est-ce que pas?
Mrs O - put that £120 in your running away fund

If I win the lottery - I'll buy you the house
How much is it?
Question Author
The property is empty so we are not inconveniencing the vendors. Yes, we are inconveniencing the estate agents but the woman from the estate agents who is meeting us there used to live in our current house 30 years ago. We have agreed that after the viewing she can come back to our house for a nosey to see how it has changed, so in my mind it is a fair deal.

I just hate shopping!! I only go into shops if I really really need to, I make a bee line for the required article and then escape promptly.

Unless its a tool shop, I may then browse a while :-)
Question Author
Ric.ror, that is very kind of you.
If we sell our house we are still £100K short....so if you win millions, £100K will be small change to you
Oh yes Mrs-O, all the time,
Mr S and I are hoping to retire in the next 3 to 5 years, and move down to a little village just outside Caernarfon, we have a static caravan there at the moment, and we spend three days a week there.
Every week we look in the local papar at all the houses that we can't afford, and dream for a few days every week about living there if we were lucky enough to win on the lottery,
I think that you have to have a dream to keep you going. X
